Blues in Bisbee was started in 2004 by Robert George “Buzz” Pearson, a longtime Blues musician in Southern Arizona, based in Bisbee. A gritty harmonica player, soulful singer, and band leader of Buzz & the Soul Senders, he was a steady presence, keeping the Blues alive down south, in clubs, regional festivals and bars, for many years, and is a big influence on bringing the Bisbee Blues Festival to life.
In 2014 the event was taken over by Bisbee Blues Foundation, under the umbrella of community radio station KBRP.
In 2018, the event became a production of Easterseals Blake Foundation, as the Blues in Bisbee Festival, and supports our mission to improve the lives of thousands of children and families across Arizona.
